Archbishop Justin Welby will speak at a fringe event at the General Synod of the Church of England on November 18th to launch Living Reconciliation,
He will speak about why reconciliation is one of his priorities. In his foreword to the book he says: ‘Reconciliation is at the heart of our calling to serve God in our prayer and our witness.’ He also identifies reconciliation as a hallmark of Anglicanism. He will speak about why this book can make a major and important contribution to what the church should mean by reconciliation.
Following a brief Q and A with the Archbishop, the authors will talk about their inspiration and the associated resources available for groups to study the book. These include an 8 week Study Guide that focuses on Scripture and challenges groups to cross barriers and live out the gospel in their context.
Sarah Hills who has recently taken up the role of Canon for Reconciliation at Coventry, will briefly explain why she believes this book has been needed for such a long time and why she has been studying it with a group at the Cathedral.
